what to expect
Throughout the lip lift process, patients receive personalized care from Dr. Holland. The procedure, performed as a standalone in our office awake under local anesthesia or in combination with other facial procedures in an accredited ambulatory center, is done safely and comfortably. However, the evaluation is crucial because not everyone's anatomy allows for a lip lift. After the procedure, temporary swelling and discomfort may occur. Over time, gradual improvements in lip appearance happen, monitored through regular follow-up appointments with Dr. Holland to ensure satisfaction and optimal results.
things to consider before having a lip lift prcoedure:
The discomfort and pain should begin to decrease within 48 hours after the procedure.
After the procedure you will notice some bruising and swelling in the area(s). This usually peaks within 2-3 days after the procedure. After 72 hours the swelling and bruising rapidly subside.
You may feel reduced or heightened sensation in the upper lip and surrounding area which is normal. You can expect return of normal sensation after a few weeks to months.

During the lip lift procedure, Dr. Holland removes a portion of the skin below and to the sides of the nose. This shortens the area between the base of the nose and the top lip. The goal of the procedure is to expose more of the vermilion, which makes the lips appear fuller and more youthful.
A corner lip lift is when Dr. Holland places small incisions at the corners of the mouth, so the lips turn up slightly. Dr. Holland performs both of the procedures in the office under local anesthetic. The excisions will leave a discreet scar, which will heal within a few months.
